Recovering energy from local organic waste
Producing energy locally using our biological waste
Anaerobic digestion is the core process in energy recovery from organic waste. This method allows agricultural, agri-food industries and public bodies to turn effluents or residues into valuable electricity or biomethane, for local use.
Methanation is a natural anaerobic process which consists in the decomposition of organic matter without air. This anaerobic digestion leads to the production of biogas composed of methane, and a digestate. The methane produced is enhanced for energy purposes in biogas engines, a boiler, or by injection into the existing gas grid. Digestate is used as fertiliser or organic amendment.
